Alick Jackomos Library and Resource Centre

Alick Jackomos (1924-1999) was a friend of, and advocate for, Aboriginal people all his working life. In addition he was an author, raconteur, genealogist and collector of stories and memorabilia. In 1999 in the presence of Alick's family and friends, Aboriginal Affairs Victoria's Resource Centre was renamed the ‘Alick Jackomos Library’.

Accessing the Library


Online access to the library catalogue will be available late 2009.

Students and members of the public are encouraged to use their public library or tertiary institution to source materials, however, access to the Alick Jackomos collection as a reference resource only can be arranged by appointment. Contact us.

Please note: The Alick Jackomos Library does not provide research assistance to students, however, library materials may be provided on inter-library loan to educational institutions.
